Marriage, Explained Workshop

A one-day Saturday workshop to help couples understand how marriage works — and how to make it thrive.

Marriage usually doesn’t fall apart because people don’t love each other.

It falls apart because couples get stuck in power struggles, misread each other’s intentions, and don’t have a shared way to talk about needs, conflict, and connection.

Marriage, Explained is a full-day, skills-based workshop that gives couples an “above-the-woods” view of marriage—how relationships work, why they struggle, and what actually helps them thrive over time.

This is not therapy.

No forced sharing. No public processing. No awkward “turn to your spouse and confess your deepest fear” moments.

Just clarity, tools, and shared language you can use right away.

The Marriage Pathway Series

Marriage, Explained is the first workshop in a larger series called the Marriage Pathway — a progressive set of five workshops designed to help couples understand marriage, themselves, and each other in a clear, practical way.

This first workshop lays the foundation. It gives couples shared language and a big-picture understanding that makes every other conversation about marriage easier and more productive.

Couples can attend this workshop on its own, or continue through the pathway over time as additional workshops become available. Click here for more details.

What You’ll Walk Away With

By the end of the day, couples typically leave with:

  • A clear understanding of why power struggles happen (and how to stop feeding them)

  • A shared way to talk about needs, conflict, and connection

  • A practical framework for keeping your marriage healthy—even when you disagree

  • More compassion and less “false narrative” about what your spouse means or intends

  • Concrete next steps for strengthening your relationship

This workshop is designed to be meaningful whether your marriage is:

  • doing great and you want it stronger, or

  • feeling strained and you need a reset.

Who This Is For

This workshop is for couples who want:

  • better understanding and fewer recurring fights

  • practical tools (not just inspiration)

  • a healthier pattern when conflict shows up

  • a shared framework that makes future growth easier

This workshop is not a good fit if:

  • you’re in an active crisis involving violence, intimidation, or ongoing betrayal without safety in place

  • one partner is attending only to prove a point or “fix” the other

(If you’re unsure, reach out—I’ll help you decide.)

  • In short, yes, but the content is psychologically-based also, relationship-focused, and accessible to anyone.

  • No. There’s no forced sharing and no public processing.

  • That’s common. Many couples come because one person feels more motivated. The workshop is designed to be respectful, practical, and low-pressure.

  • Just yourselves. Everything else is provided.

  • [Insert your refund/transfer policy here.]
